Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the regulatory framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan governing the digitalization of water accounting and water distribution. Key provisions of legislation supporting the introduction of automated systems, as well as barriers that impede the effective digital transformation of the industry, have been identified. Institutional role of RSE "Kazvodkhoz" and potential of application of international experience are considered. Recommendations on improving legislation and ensuring sustainable water use were proposed. A comparative analysis is also given with regulatory and program approaches in the field of digital and water management implemented in the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States of America.
