This paper presents the results of the synthesis of nitrogen-containing carbon sorbents based on plant raw materials modified with urea in mass ratios of 1:1 and 1:2. The average yield of solid residue was 37.3% of the initial raw material mass. The sorption capacity reached 140 mg/g at a carbonization temperature of 500°C. SEM showed that the structure of the material is characterized by porosity with pore sizes of 5–15 μm, which contributes to the effective absorption of pollutants. Thus, the synthesized materials demonstrate potential as effective sorbents for the purification of aqueous media from organic pollutants.
