The production of aerated concrete is carried out using gas-forming additives – mainly aluminum powder or paste, which react with calcium hydroxide in an aqueous medium, resulting in pore formation due to the release of hydrogen. The amount of gas-forming agent introduced is selected depending on the required characteristics of the final product. The purpose of this study is to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of lightweight aerated concrete obtained with the use of low-calcium fly ash and blast furnace slag. It was found that increasing the dosage of aluminum powder in the mixture leads to a decrease in the density of the material due to increased porosity, which, in turn, has a negative effect on its compressive and flexural strength.
