The article presents the results of a study of the physicochemical properties of sulfide iron-copper ores rich in pyrite and chalcopyrite collected from the Kokkiya deposit in the Zhambyl Region. The aim of the study was to determine the chemical and mineral composition of the ore, investigate the distribution of valuable components, and consider possibilities for their processing. The chemical composition, infrared spectra, morphological characteristics, and elemental composition of the ore samples were studied. Infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and elemental analysis were employed. The results showed that the ores of the Kokkiya deposit are characterized by a complex and heterogeneous composition. Carbon, sulfur, silicon, aluminum, iron, and other elements were identified in the flotation concentrates. The findings demonstrated the need for preliminary ore treatment and highlighted the importance of selecting effective technologies for the recovery of valuable non-ferrous and precious metals. The possibility of using less environmentally hazardous solvents and modern technologies for ore processing was considered.
